Tara's Exotic Rescue

UPDATE!
Friday November 11 my house was raided by animal control and the animals taken.  They gave no notice and I was completely taken by surprise.  I was not home at the time and was given less than an hour to get home.  By the time I arrived, the police were there and they were going in.  The animals were well taken care of.  The cats ran to great everyone and the rats were hanging on thier cages begging for scritches.  The Cockatoos were talking and telling people "I love you".  I still have no idea why and was told that the cats were taken to Simply cats and some of the other critters were taken by Dr Sauer from Intermountain Animal hospital.  They didn't know what the hampster was that I had, that is how much these people knew that came and removed them.  I am greatly concerned about thier welfare and hope to be able to fight to get at least a couple of them back.  I have done animal rescue for years and have never had anything like this happen before and have never been made to feel like a common criminal.  If there had truely been a problem, they would have issued a sitation, which they did not.  They took the animals, wouldn't let me enter my house to even use the bathroom and gave no explanation.  This is the way that animal control works.  I am sure what they did is illegal, but how do you fight it?  Someone called Channel 6 and they interviewed me for a segment that they are doing tonight November 13.  Hopefully something will come of that interview that will be positive.

I am an in home exotic rescue based in Nampa Idaho.  I started off in cat rescue, have worked with AIDA (Animals in Distress) with wildlife rescue and now have opened my doors to the helpless small furry critters as well as the feathered friends that everyone seems to love, but so many don't know the time and money it takes to care for one.

I take in chinchillas, degus, rats, mice, hedgehogs, sugar gliders and parrots on a as needed basis.  I have everyone health checked and make sure everyone is healthy and socialized before they find thier new forever home.  If they are sick, or elderly, then I will care for them until the time comes that they no longer have the quality of life, and then I will help them peacefully pass over the bridge to go play with others who have passed before.

I love these guys.  They take alot of work, and it is hard and I shed many tears of pain and joy for them, but it is a work that I love.

I work with a wonderful vet tech named Kay who has the same love and passion for these little ones.

If you have an animal that you are no longer able to care for due to finances, find injured or orphaned babies, or any situation, please call or email me and I will be more than happy to help. 208-713-1259
